A delegation of the SNPC led by the Secretary General of the Foundation Mr. Pascal Itoua Oyona stayed in Owando from 19 to 21 May 2018. The purpose of this trip was to represent the General Directorate of the National Oil Company of Congo Owando, the capital of the department of the basin, struck by a strong tornado having caused a lot of material damage and some wounded; and fortunately without any deaths.
Mr. Pascal Itoua Oyona made contact with the local authorities, in this case the Mayor of Owando Mr. Michel Elenga Ekolo, as well as the Secretary General of the prefecture of the basin Mr. Pascal Mananga representing the prefect prevented. Mr. Itoua Oyona presented a SNPC donation consisting of medicines, food products, lots of sheets to the Mayor of Owando on behalf of the SNPC.
After the presentation of the gifts, Messrs. Itoua Oyona and Michel Elenga Ekolo took questions from the journalists. Then followed, with the Mayor of Owando, chairman of the crisis committee in charge of disaster management, the visit of the various sites affected by the violence of the tornado, namely: the National Gendarmerie of the bowl, the school of the three presidents, the Ceg Leyet Gakoba as well as the homes of some individuals.
